We are excited to announce the immediate availability of the latest version of uGet, version 2.0.8. We've also started on a new development branch and there is a new update for that as well, beta version 2.1.4. We've also been working on the website quite extensively lately making improvements to the download section as well as the improving the Version Checking system. If you're curious what all we've done so far check out the rest of this blog post and the changelog attached.
I've updated the Downloads section to make it easier for us to update the available packages. I haven't tested it but I'll track the speed of it on the next release to see how much time it saves me. :)
I've updated as many packages for as many distros as possible as well as built a parsing system that references the existing versions that are available in various repositories so you can easilly reference what version a distro will present to you by default.
I fixed the Version Checking system so it now no longer lags behind the releases and also compensates properly for those using Stable and Beta releases of uGet.
I've updated the Changelog to include all of the latest changes for various version releases that I had previously neglected to add to the changelog.
I updated a few portions of the Feature page to reflect the new features of the 2.0.x branch such as no longer needing aria2 for multi-connections.
I've updated the Debian/Ubuntu commands on the downloads section to suggest using "apt install uget" instead of "apt-get install uget". I also wrote an article about this apt command for HowToGeek.com in case you're interested in learning about that.
