uGet Feature List Updated, a lot bigger than I thought PDF Print E-mail

I'm going to admit something to you all here...I can be kind of lazy sometimes. I know...shocking, right? Anyway, when I was creating the new website I noticed that the homepage wouldn't support all the features of uGet so I just listed about 10 and lazily ended it wtih "many more". When it came to adding all the features to the Features page, I took the lazy route and just copy and pasted the homepage text on that page. (I know, what is the point of the page then)

Yesterday I was hanging out on Twitter and noticed a lot of people posting about all the different features provided by various Linux download managers as if there a ton of features being provided and I couldn't help but think "well that is only a third of what uGet has"...then it dawned on me, "I never freaking added the features list to the Features page". Of course, I started to get a bit mad at myself but instead I decided to just get it done so everyone can see the VAST list of features available in uGet.

So if you go to the Features page now you will see an exhaustive list but still not complete list. Honestly, there are a couple features in uGet that I am not 100% sure of what they do so once I figure those out I'll add those too.

For our loyal uGet advocates who try to share the app with their friends and family but get the response of "there aren't many feature" to you I would like to say "Sorry about that, maybe now you can blow their minds."

Do you have a comment or feedback about this blog post? Want to yell at me for procrastinating on this for so long?

Please do so in the comments section below...

phpBB Forum Default Settings Bug FIXED! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Michael Tunnell

Well we had another Support Fail but this time I am happy to say it was not "my fault". :) I created a forum with phpBB to provide support for users...and unfortunately it seems that phpBB's default forum permissions settings is "Read Only" meaning no one could reply and no one could make a new topic (except me as an admin)

So people were joining and then stuck, THANKS phpBB! Way to consider the only default setting that would instantly break a new install.

Anyway, I fixed the permissions issues and the forum now works like it should have be default...Users can create accounts, make new topics, post replies, make polls, all that good stuff. Even allowing Guests to reply to posts and vote on polls but to create polls or make new posts you will need to register. (this is for a level of spam prevention)
