Deleting active download and file leaves the file behind

Postby wahming » Sat May 28, 2016 12:04 pm

Subject pretty much says it all. Deleting an active download with files, leaves the download-in-progress file and the aria2 file behind, which it shouldn't.

Your profile says that you are using uGet Version: 1.10.4, if this is true then please update your version to the latest version which is 2.0.8.

Once you try the latest version then please let us know if you are still experiencing an issue.

2.0.8 for Windows = http://ugetdm.com/downloads-windows

Note- 1.10.4 is very old and is no longer supported.

Whoops. I just downloaded it a few hours before. It is 2.0.8, I just entered the wrong version during registration. I think that's the value prompted as an example during registration.

Deleting an active download with files, leaves the download-in-progress file and the aria2 file behind, which it shouldn't.

I have confirmed this error to a point, it is leaving a leftover aria2 file for sure but it doesn't leave the main file as mentioned in your post. Could you please check again to make sure whether or not it is leaving the partial main file?

Either way, this is a bug that we need to look into. Thank you for reporting this.

Ahh ok. You're right, that was the examples offered. I have replaced those examples with the current stable and beta version schemes. :)

Just retried and confirmed - yes, both files are left behind. See screenshot. http://prntscr.com/b9u6y2

Also - deleting my download entries (delete entry only) left them on the list still for some reason. Screenshot attached. http://prntscr.com/b9u67m. I had already moved the downloaded files prior to deleting the entries, not sure if that has anything to do with it.

That's certainly weird and needs to be addressed. I use Linux so perhaps the issue with leaving the main file is a Windows only problem. We'll do some testing on this as well.

The aria2 leftovers is an issue that I experienced on Linux as well so that's certainly confirmed and will be addressed. Thank you for your report.

This is intended function. uGet has a "recycled" status so that you can delete the entry but retrieve the data back just in case. It also allows users to resume a download in case they accidentally deleted an entry.

If you are certain you want to delete an entry, press "Delete" twice on your keyboard or "Shift+Delete" to skip the Recycled status and finally "Ctrl+Delete" to remove files as well. (though this has an issue as you know :) )
