Joining the Translation Team
If you’d like to join the Translation Team for uGet then, first THANK YOU!, and secondly, it’s fairly simple. uGet uses the Transifex language service (free to open source projects) in order to organize the languages and translations. The following is a quick guide for joining the team. Even if your language is currently at “100% Completed”, translations are still needed because strings may be modified with new releases of uGet. Note: English is the Source Language, so you will need to be able to translate from English to your desired language.
Joining an Existing Language Team
1. Create, or login to, a Transifex account.
2. Go to the uGet project page on Transifex. 3. If the language already exists, click on the Language link and then the “Join Team” button on the next page. (screenshot) 4. Choose the latest resource file, usually named with the uGet version. You’ll be presented with a dialog box for this resource. 5. You can either choose to use Transifex’s built-in Translation Editor (screenshot) or download the resource to edit offline. 6. If using Transifex’s Editor then filter the strings by “Untranslated” to easily find strings to work on. (screenshot)Requesting a New Language for uGet
1. Create, or login to, a Transifex account.
2. Go to the uGet project page on Transifex. 3. If the language does not exists, click the “Request Language” button. (screenshot) 4. Request a new language by selecting it or searching for it in the dialog box that pops up. (screenshot) 5. At this point, I’ll review the language request and message you via Transifex private messages if I have any questions. 6. If the language is accepted then you’ll automatically be added to the new team and be ready to use Transifex’s built-in Translation Editor (screenshot) or download the resource to edit offline.Supported Languages
